a little late...

Easter was completely laid back and simple around here.
It was the perfect wrap up to a long, busy, fun Spring Break.

The kids colored eggs with their cousin before the Wests left this weekend.
Unfortunately we never hid any because the weather turned (remained?!?) cold and nasty.  Well, that and I'm lazy. ;)

On Sunday, Ryan and I woke to the sounds of whispers and jellybeans (yes, jellybeans have a sound-- when they're being picked up one by one and cradled in a pj shirt!) outside our bedroom door.  When we finally rolled ourselves out of bed, I found them waiting for us... not having ransacked their baskets until we came down, but rather picked up their jelly bean trails (from their bedroom doors to their baskets in the living room) and laid them down again for each other to repeat a couple of times. :)

First thing Easter morning, complete with random mismatched jammies, one child already dressed before we got up, all bleary-eyed (and blurry camera-ed):
SJ's basket:

Sawyer's basket:

Coen's basket:

After church:

We had a great big lunch (and delivered a meal to our neighbors as well!) with some of my absolute favorites... a glazed ham of course, potatoes, Ryan's beloved carrot & raisin salad, fresh asparagus, hot rolls and these yummy pears.  And carrot cake of course.
The kids played easter egg hunts with each other and the handful of plastic eggs from their baskets while we got our dinner ready and after, with full, happy bellies, we all snuggled up against the rainy dreary day out side and watched a movie together.

It was a nice, relaxed, Easter tradition-ny, revel in the blessings-y, kind of Easter Sunday. :)
