proof in the pictures:
and back in line to do it again!!
Can you believe I did that?!?!
(But she sure was proud of herself!)
And since we've been a little light in the comment section over here and I need stuff to read this weekend...
Friday Questions:
Are you right or left-handed, what is your favorite summertime meal, and what do you think is the best ever classic kids toy? You know... like matchbox cars, Lincoln Logs, a Sit-n-Spin, Lite-Brite, playdough...
My answers:
I'm left handed. Although really only when it comes to handwriting and using a fork/spoon. I answer left-handed, but pretty much everything else I'm either-handed (yes, that's a word) or exclusively right-handed. I use scissors with my right hand and all sports stuff is right handed.
My idea of the perfect meal in the summertime is a nice juicy perfectly grilled steak, with a sweet ear of corn on the cob, tomato and asparagus pie, watermelon, lemonade and hmmm... how do I choose a favorite dessert?? I'll get back to you on that one :)
And at the moment I think the best toy ever was the Etch-a-Sketch. I just got Savannah her first one ( a little travel one for the car) antd she is mesmerized! I remember sitting with that thing for hours and hours. I'm sure though when you suggest a classic toy, with each suggestion I'll think to myself oh yeah, I forgot about that one... that's the best toy ever!!

100% right handed.
Favorite summertime meal? There's so much to love...this wouldn't all be in one meal, of course, but I love stuff on the grill. We grill burgers and brats, steaks, mushrooms, pineapple rings, and we also do meatloaf on the grill. So yummy. Any of that with a glass of wine would top my list! Other summertime yumminess includes strawberry shortcake and Arnold Palmers.
Favorite classic toy? Any kind of Legos/building blocks probably tops my list. Mainly because my boys just love to build with them and it will keep them busy for hours. They also LOVE Lite Brite.
Have a great weekend!
Right-handed. All the time.
Fave summer meal: Probably the traditional, all-American grilled cheeseburger, potato chips, fruit, and a dessert like ice cream! And a yummy summer drink like a margarita or sangria.
Classic toy...hm, I might have to get back to you on this one. When I was little I loved Cabbage Patch Kids, but are they a "classic?"
I'm right-handed, but I throw and bat with my left. Actually, I rarely do those things anymore, so pretty much right.
In the summertime I love to grill as well. It keeps the mess outside and it is delicious. My favorite is shishkebobs, which we'll have today, with mushsrooms and onions and peppers. We eat that with white rice, usually. And my all time favorite desert is strawberries on vanilla ice cream. And I don't want them sugared or anything, just cut up and thrown on. Yummy.
On the toys, that's a hard one for me. I remember well the ones mentioned, and my kids play with them as well. But I am hard pressed to think of something that entertains for hours for my kids. I know that the girls love the doll house and stuff that goes with it. Ethan loved guys of any kind, super heros, the cheap ones that came in the McDonald's meals. He'd have all kinds of things going on with those guys. He'll still do that sometimes. Gertie loves babies, babies, babies.
And so you know, you had a great post the other day (can't recall right now) and I wrote out a very lengthy comment, probably would have bored you to death. And then when I was done and wanted to send it off, I lost it. I don't know how, but it was gone. I just didn't have it in me to repeat myself. But I am reading and thinking of you.
i'm right-handed for everything, except when i play hockey - i hold the stick left-handed. weird.
favorite summer meal: i love grilling! i'd have to say bbq chicken on the grill, with corn on the cob, grilled potatoe's and fresh fruit! yum! dessert - fruit salad or smores on the campfire! drink: strawberry daiquiri. :)
classic toys i love: legos/lincoln logs, matchbox cars...and if i have a girl, i want her to have a 'real' cabbage patch doll (not a fakey plastic one). :)
right-handed.
i loooove burgers, potato salad, pasta salad... maybe some of my mom's calico beans... YUM!
and i love legos. honestly, i would buy them for myself. and i follow the directions to a T... i'm definitely not a person that just builds things with them.
I am right handed even though I can write with my left because I hurt my right arm/elbow for a few months when I was younger. Go figure...me hurt! ha!
My favorite summertime meal is a yummy salad with salmon and raspberry vinegarette dressing.
Classic toy would have to be pound puppies or rubix cube! :)
Totally right handed.
Favorite summer meal - well since I really hate cooking and being in the kitchen I'm going to pick the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad from Panera. With a side of bread and an ice cold pepsi. Add chicken to the salad and it's even better. I wait for it to come out every summer and am so excited when it does. And now they offer a summer "you pick 2" - strawberry salad and a chicken salad sandwich. Yum!
Classic toy - I'm going to say Marbleworks. I think it should be considered a classic by now since it's been around for like 30 years. I sold Discovery Toys for 20 years (1986-2006)and it was my all time best selling product. When my friends kids come over it is the toy they go back to again and again. In fact last week while Jackson and Ellie were here Christopher (23 yrs. old) got down on the floor and played with it right along with the kids. You can build it different every time and race the marbles down the shoots.
Next time we have playtime in the backyard remind me and I'll bring it out on the patio for Savannah and Sawyer to try out in between trampoline jumping, climbing in the treehouse and tractor rides around the yard.
Right Handed, although I leap better on my left (for dance)
Favorite Summertime Meal: Grilled Seasoned Pork Tenderloin, Chipotle Grilled Potatoes and Red onions with Peppers, a big green salad, good crusty bread, and Fruit Pizza for dessert. Probably ice tea or a wine spritzer for drinks!
Classic Toy Fav: Legos and or puzzles, my kids love them and they work for both boys and girls!
Left handed (mostly). I am kinda the same as you though, Heath. The way I describe it is most of the fine-motor skills with left hand and gross motor skills with the right hand.
Summertime meal-anything from the grill, steaks are up there!
Classic toy-Vul-Tron; not sure about the spelling anymore and I don't know if it is classic, but I loved it!
right handed
love to make kabobs on the grill. I love chicken, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, mushrooms, pineapple, onions. and then smother them with EVOO, seasoning salt, garlic pepper, and garlic salt. yummy!!
fave childhood toy has probably got to be the litebrite, I remember having to buy refill pages because i was always playing with it! lol!
