it's friday

It's Friday, and it's about time.
I'm not sure if it's because I'm unusually anxious for the weekend every week lately or what, but for the past few weeks I start to think on Wednesday that it should already almost be Friday and by every Thursday I really am thinking it is Friday and I get my days all confused and then by the time Friday gets here I'm past ready for it.

Anyway. It is Friday.
Ryan starts his summer hours today, so that's another bonus. Except our whole afternoon for this first summer Friday is filled with Savannah's dress rehearsal for her dance recital. We're taking the video camera today since they're "banned" from the real shows tomorrow, so if she comes through and makes it through her performance I'll have pics and video to share tonight.

It's Friday and I have a whole list of things waiting for weekends this summer. Unfortunately much of this weekend is already pretty filled up with dance rehearsals and performances. Then Sunday we have a big afternoon barbecue with our church at a friends' house. With a pool :)
But since I'm in that what should we accomplish this weekend Friday mindset anyway, I'm going to make a quick list of things slotted for the rest of our weekends this summer...

projects we'd like to complete:
  • powerwash the siding on our house
  • paint our shutters and patch/touch up the restored mailbox post
  • fence part of the backyard
  • addition to deck
  • stain our fireplace surround/possibly retiling the brick

projects that are mostly me and/or can be done during the week:
  • paint our bedroom (yes, it's about time!)
  • paint the kids' bathroom cabinets
  • reface the kitchen cabinets
  • redo (most likely paint) border in SJ's room (Sawyer has mutilated the ribbon idea)

fun stuff we want to do this summer:
(not that projects aren't fun, hehe!)
  • camping a few times
  • trip to Lake Michigan
  • weekend/week away on a family vacation (I'm still hoping for the east coast)
  • random St Louis things we still haven't gotten around to doing... Six Flags, Grant's Farm, etc.
  • a visit with the Robertson's (at either our house or their NEW house CLOSER TO US!!... or both)
  • Ryan's mom is visiting for a week during June
  • Ryan and Sawyer are taking a trip to Oregon in August
  • swim, swim and more swimming
Think we can get that all accomplished in the next 10 weekends?
Savannah starts Kindergarten on August 15th! (and don't get me started on how I feel like that's still the middle of summer!!)

Good luck at Savannah's dance recital! How fun!

Your summer sounds jam packed full of lots of fun projects. Mine goal is to simply to survive the 100 degree weather while in my 3rd trimester. Hahaa!

Have a good weekend!

Wow you guys have a lot of goals for the summer! If I wrote ours down (for the new house) I'm sure I'd be way overwhelmed. I have lots of things in mind and unfortunately, we have no money HAHA! I guess my short term goal should be to survive each day without screaming at Porter. I'm losing my mind here, slowly but surely.

And... its depressing when you look at the summer as just 10 weekends... :*(
