my first official giveaway

I love giveaways. It's always great to get something for free. And even better when you are actually a WINNER! And getting to win and getting free stuff, makes me want to make others winners and getters of free stuff.

Over the past few months, I've been enjoying perusing this blog once in awhile, and especially love her Imaginary Book Club. I always love hearing others opinions on books and to get ideas for new titles from all over the place.
As a bonus, after this Happier Girl reads her Imaginary Book Club "selection", she's started giving away the books... you know, all good things are meant to be shared and all that.

I think that's a wonderfully fun idea (it was especially fun because I won the first giveaway!!); why not pass on the good words?

I have an absurd amount of books. I love bookshelves, I love to collect books, I really do read my favorites over and over again, however, I really don't need all. these. books.
I've loaned out plenty of books, given my not so favorites to Goodwill, I know there are great book swapping websites and clubs and so on and so forth. However, I think this give something away and make someone smile thing is the way to go.
So I'm following Happier Girl's lead and I want to pass on the books that I enjoy to someone else who may want to enjoy them also. Starting right here on my blog. Starting with the book I just finished which just so happens to be the book I received from Happier Girl, The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. It was a great book, a quick read, an unforgettable memoir of the author's childhood. In future book hand-offs, I'll give a little more of an actual synopsis of the book, but Happier Girl pretty much covered this one right here, so I won't bother repeating.

If anyone's interested in a free, slightly used paperback copy of a great book, I'll send it right to you, free of charge, even shipping. And if I find there's more than one of you who wants in on the reading and the freeness and the winnning, I'll randomly draw a name. Just leave me a comment here saying that you want the book and I'll choose a winner on Monday (January 28th) and then get it in the mail for that lucky reader by the end of the month.

**Be sure I have or have access to your email address so I can get ahold of the winner!

**ETA: Congrats Jenny! Enjoy!!**

This is a great idea. I'd say I'm in, but my SIL Kristi just brought 2 books over for me and I'm just hoping to get through those!
