So I was "tagged" a few times in the last few weeks and never got around to getting that meme done. So here's a seasonal twist on the 7 random things about me...
7 random things I'd like for Christmas in no particular order...
1.
A sewing machine. Probably kind of a silly wish since I feel like I already have too many things I want to do with not enough time, but I would love to sew things. Dresses for Savannah, roman shades, crafty things. I do have an old old fold away table top type machine that was Ryan's mom's, but I have no idea what to do with it. She sent it with us when we moved out here and has never been here to "teach" me how to use it, so combine that with minimal sewing skills in general and I'm really at a loss with where to start. I figure with a new sewing machine they'll be enough instruction in the owners manual to at least point me in the right direction and it'll be a little more self explanatory than the antique I have.
2.
Serving dishes like these or these. With as much as we like to have people over for dinner and want to have many more big dinner parties, I need more serving dishes. The few I have are all mis-matched so I'd like some nice simple white ones to go with anything.
3.
A good hair stylist and gift certificates for service. I love to get my hair cut and love to get it professionally colored. It's such a treat. Unfortunately I don't treat myself often... I'm lucky if I get around to getting a real haircut twice a year (I know, *cringe*) and maybe splurge on highlights once of those two. I would love to be able to go do that whenever I needed to.
4.
New jeans. Ugh. I dread shopping for them, but I really really need new jeans.
5.
Big canvas prints of some of these pictures to go in my bathroom.
6.
Books. Lots of books. But can I get those to come with the extra time to read them? There are so many books I want to read... I'm so behind on reading some of my favorite authors... Jodi Picoult, Anita Shreve, Max Lucado.
7.
Okay, I guess technically I want this one before Christmas;
Bebo Norman's new Christmas album, Christmas... From the Realms of Glory
Can't wait to hear more of that one!!
Ok, so now it's your turn. What do you want for Christmas? And, don't be getting all noble and all I want is "world peace" on me. I'm interested in consumerism- rampant consumerism!
In fact, let's just assume that the following is on your list already: healthy family, a lottery win, a 30 day spa vacation to Hawaii with a full time nanny so you don't have to miss the children... Oh, and of course, a kitchen remodel, complete with all new appliances.
So besides all of that, what do you want?
Go!

those pics are great of your kiddos-- what perfect light in there!
I'd like...a new bike, paint for our bedroom wall, new picture frames and curtains for our bedroom, a gift certificate to barnes and noble, board games, new jeans, a new winter coat from old navy, a new pair of running shoes, hmmmm....I could keep going but I'm going to stop! :)
I can help you out with the learning to sew. I have about 4 machines up and running. Now I just need Jeff to help me reorganize my sewing area over break.Actually I have an extra one sitting downstairs if you want to borrow it to give it a whirl. I have a ton of patterns and can teach you all the basics. I have taught 7th grade boys to sew so you should be easy :)
My wish list for Christmas:
-An overlock sewing machine w/ lots of fun knit fabric
http://www.babylock.co.uk/prestige.htm
- New couch for living room.
- New b/w pics for walls. I need to get them blown up and hung
- new lens for my camera
- clothes- new stylish shirts
- shelf to hang tv in LR
- Weekend off w/ no kids to do nothing but lay around and read. I would need lots of new books for this
-new dress coat
I need new jeans, maternity. My favorite pair are pretty holey! So sad, I don't want to give them up. I too have a hard time finding good jeans.
Oh, I'm so glad you asked! I've been working on this list, but no one's asking.
1. stylish turtlenecks for everyday wear. I love them and EVERY winter day I look for one to wear.
2. knee-high socks (so my neck AND my legs will be warm. My mom bought me some when I was pregnant with Gertie and I fell in love. I want to wear them every winter day too.
3. slippers with soles so that I can take the trash out in them, even in winter.
4. gloves or mittens that really are warm, but a little dressier (maybe black).
5. a new purse. I bought one not that long ago, but the strap broke, and now I carry it around with a strap hanging down. It is really cramping my style.
6. and the jeans. I got bigger after being pregnant and then smaller, but now I'm chubbing up again and I need jeans that fit.
7. Mystic Chai Tea. I'm sure I can make this one happen. I MUST.
