valentines

Here's a pic of my valentines today...
The two little valentines have mustaches because these were a part of the valentines we made to hand out this year...

The front says "I mustache you a question..." and the back says "will you by my valentine?".
And then we made three dozen mint chocolate mustaches on a stick to go with them. :)
[I saw these valentines last year and knew we wanted to do them for this year.  I snagged mustache candy molds off of amazon for a couple of bucks months ago.]
Turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!
The kids have been chanting that "I mustache you a question" all day.
Followed by "...but I'll shave it for later.". HA!

And for our teachers...
I grabbed a couple of $1.99 mugs at Target, used a heart stencil and slapped some chalkboard paint on them.  Fill them with candy hugs and kisses and it's super cute!!

Ryan and I's old tradition was a trip to Seattle for V-day each year.  Seattle and Ikea. ;)
I've been missing that tradition.  We just don't get to take trips away like that anymore.  Made me kind of meloncholy today.
Ryan must have sensed my reminiscing because he brought me home a present... which we never do for Valentine's Day.  Another Storypeople print to add to our collection. :)
I did a gift for him this year too.  It was big.  And it was a lot of sneaky work.  I'll save the details (and pics!) for later, but let's just say the bedroom he came home to this afternoon was not the same one he left this morning!  It involved paint and crafting and hanging things.  And new bedding. ;)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go hang out with my valentines, get the kids showered and to bed, order chinese take out with my sweetie (a new tradition for us) and hang out in our new room enjoy a romantic evening.  That may or may not involve an episode of Downton Abby. (!)
