we went thru a bit of paint this weekend

Spent the entire weekend painting and "remodeling". Got a new looking hallway (looong hallway with 7 doors involved) and a pretty little bathroom out of it. Love it!!

We figured after almost 6 months and the fact that we're looking at lodging houseguest groups # 6 and 7 coming up soon, that it was probably about time to spruce up the kids'/guest bathroom. The filthy tile grout, an overbearing mirror and vanity and a gaping hole in the wall from an obnoxious medicine cabinet we removed the very first few days we lived here were just not very welcoming or attractive. Not to mention the fact that 2 of the 4 lightbulbs have been burned out in there for months. But you know how when you live with something long enough you tend to eventually just not notice it anymore?? Yeah, that was that whole bathroom.

My apologies to those that have visited and had to brush your teeth with that lovely drywall dust in there. I promise if you come back and see us again, you'll have a much more comfortable bathroom!

I'm still working on finishing up the trim and cabinet in the bathroom and then I'll hopefully be putting it all together tomorrow. Can't wait to show you this one!

You guys put us to shame. I can't believe how quickly you get projects on your to-do list done. We've been in our house for a year and a half and I still have wallpaper to take down and hallways that need paint. They might still look like that when we leave...but I hope not!
Can't wait to see you guys and your new home.

well, heidi, i also didn't have an infant upon move-in either!
and we haven't done any REAL remodeling, it's just been simply paint and tile and lights and things like that. this bathroom redo this weekend cost us just $75 out of pocket, so it's totally reasonable that we should have been able to get it done and out of the way months ago! i've just learned in the last two houses of putting off projects that it's so worth it to just get it done... we don't do real big projects, but i've learned these little details can make such a huge difference and when they're affordable and doable we need to just do them so we can actually enjoy them instead of spending our time just wishing things were different!
