okay, okay...

I know. It's been like a year since I've posted. Or five days. Who's counting.

I've been a little busy.
I couldn't seem to manage to get anything done while Patty was here.
I had planned to get all my handmade gifts this year to get done last week... before the deadline of today to mail packages across the country. Well, I thought the deadline was today... turns out it's really this Saturday? But believe me when I tell you, and you'll agree if you know me, it's a good thing I thought it was today.

Anyway, I had planned to get all my gifts made last week. And in reality I got absolutely nothing done. Too busy visiting.
So I've spent the last three days, since the moment I bid farewell to my friend at the airport, feverishly working on what seems like three dozen projects all at once. You should seriously see my house. Every flat surface is covered with art supplies/crafting/photos/Christmas wrap/packing supplies and boxes. And when I say every flat surface, I mean ev-er-y surface.... the kitchen table (with an extra leaf in it!), the kitchen island, the dining room table, the dining room floor (the kids have been forbidden from entering that room for fear they'll wreck something running through there!), the coffee table, part of the kitchen floor, and pretty much the whole living room. Gah!!

But now, after wrapping and packing gifts until 11 o'clock last night, I'm finally brushing my hands off and can breathe a sigh of relief. Until I look around and realize I have another few hours work of clean up to do!!

Actually, I do have one more project that didn't quite get done yet (and 12 copies of it to make), but that's just on the computer and should be a bit more manageable!

Anyway. That's all I've been up to this past weekend while I was MIA here in blog land...
More to write about, I'll be back later.

p.s.
reason #6 to not leave Christmas wrapping paper out unattended with a three year old in the house....

he turns it into his own personal "soccer field", complete with popsicle stick puppet goalies.
I guess it makes sense... it is green after all!
Um, if you get a present wrapped in crinkly footprinted paper, you can thank our little soccer player :)
