playing at the patch

We made our way to a great pumpkin patch on Saturday. (Seems from perusing the blogs this morning, this was the weekend for pumpkins!)

We had a rotten morning with grumpy squabbling kids and we almost didn't go, but I'm so glad we bit the bullet and headed out. It was a perfectly sunny gorgeous fall day and it was a great farm. We did the obligatory hayride, played on the huge pirate ship, did the awesome hay maze/obstacle course (over and over and over), tons of swinging, spinning, riding tractors, climbing huge haystacks, castles and forts; there was just so much to do!

We didn't even make it over to the farm animals or the pony rides, the kids were so endlessly busy in the "pumpkinland" area.
There was a giant potato sack slide they both did over and over...

you have to click on some of these to see their faces!!

And the zip line was the hands down favorite. Both kids would have been happy riding that all day long. They'd go down the line and then run right back around to the steps up to the platform again and again and again. It was so fun to watch; they had a blast!

And of course we couldn't skip the face-painting...

I realized this morning that I didn't even take any pictures of pumpkins! We'll have to do the requisite shot of pumpkins and kids on the front porch I guess :)

Looks like a blast! Both of them are looking so big and so much more grown up!
