let the winning continue

I held a Pay It Forward Share the Love giveaway last summer and had a fabulously fun (and huge!) response. Unfortunately the winner of that lovely prize (I won't mention any names... **cough cough**) dropped the ball on that one and never held a contest of her own....!
So I've been meaning to hold another contest to try it again and hopefully get someone a little more willing to share the bloggy love!

And it just so happens that I have another book waiting for a a new reader as well.

And it just so happens that a fun little blog over here is having a Blog Giveaway carnival this week.
So what better time to share the love??

So here's the deal;
I'm going to do my next book giveaway.... AND a fun, bonus, surprise bundle to go with it (part of which may or may not have anything to do with Starbucks...)! All you have to do is leave me a comment. Just for kicks, tell me who you are, where you live, and what's the best thing you've ever won! Or don't. Whatever.
Leave a comment this week, before Friday, October 31st (otherwise known as Halloween), and on Friday I'll pick a random winner to mail this fun package to. Please be sure I have a link back to your blog, email or some other way to get your mailing info in case you win.

The only catch is that I ask if you win my giveaway, you then host your own Pay It Forward type giveaway (it doesn't have to be a big deal... just something cheap, a gift card, something homemade, just something you can send to someone to brighten their day).

Oh, and the book? The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I really liked this book. I picked it up this past summer (actually while staying at the cottage on the river with the above mentioned non-named loser winner of my original giveaway... ironic!) and couldn't put it down. I had only just started it when we left the cottage, and was bummed because I had picked it up from a bookshelf there. So I on our way out of town I made my husband stop at Walmart and I bought myself a copy!
From Publishers Weekly
A snowstorm immobilizes Lexington, Ky., in 1964, and when young Norah Henry goes into labor, her husband, orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Henry, must deliver their fraternal twins himself; a healthy boy and a girl with Down Syndrome, aided only by a nurse. Seeing his daughter's handicap, he instructs the nurse, Caroline Gill, to take her to a home and later tells Norah, who was drugged during labor, that their son Paul's twin died at birth. But instead of institutionalizing Phoebe, Caroline absconds with her to Pittsburgh. David's deception becomes the defining moment of the main characters' lives, and Phoebe's absence corrodes her birth family's core over the course of the next 25 years. David's undetected lie warps his marriage; he grapples with guilt; Norah mourns her lost child; and Paul not only deals with his parents' icy relationship but with his own yearnings for his sister as well.

Great book, very thought provoking story, satisfying read!!

Alright. Now comment away!!
