finally

So to catch up with the party stuff...
photo disclaimer; I assigned Ryan as part time photographer and the coloring of my pics ended up all wonky in between the gloomy day and the white balance he switched on my camera... I attempted a little correction, but I'm just not in the mood to mess with pictures so I'm just slapping these on here as is... sorry!

Savannah had a ball! It was a fun party and she was so excited. She invited some of her friends over for a tea party celebration, and a great celebration it was! The absolutely only thing I would change would have been the weather... out of a whole ten or more days of lovely sunny 70 degree weather, the day of the party was dark and dreary and pouring down rain. We had hoped to have the tea party out on the deck, but moved it inside to the kitchen table.

The girls all were instructed to come in their best party dress, and during the party each of them decorated a fancy hat to wear to tea...

along with sunglasses to go in their new "monogrammed" handbags...

and we beaded necklaces too.
They all took this decorating and accessorizing very seriously too!

Then they sat down for "tea" (pink lemonade) and cake...
along with berries, cookies, tea sandwiches, and the like. We used a tiny porcelain tea set with the girls and they all got a kick out of drinking out of those delicate little cups and saucers. They sat around forever sipping "tea" and nibbling and chatting up a storm. Such little ladies!I actually had to pry them away from the table to do presents before the girls were picked up. They just had so much fun being fancy tea party girls!!

And again, here's the cake, my pride and joy of the party. I really had so much fun doing it and Savannah loved it.

And it was yummy too!!

If anyone's interested, I used the fondant recipe and tips found here. It's a marshmallow version of the fondant so it's really yummy rather than the tasteless thick stuff on traditional fondant cakes. It was not at all as scary as I had feared and I'm anxious to practice some more and see what other cakes I can come up with.

And not to leave the little brother out... he liked to pretend he was part of the party too!

How fun!

I am just catching up on my emails and came to visit your cute post.

That is so funny that we both did the same party this year! Eden also had so much fun! The girls were all so great and cute! I love little girls!

I will have to check out the fondant recipe you used. Your cake is adorable!!! Have you ever worked with fondant before? I had no idea what i was doing...lol...how do you get the fondant from being rolled flat to on top of the cake without stretching, wrinkling it or making it crack? That is some moody stuff! :O)

I love the candles you used too!!! Everything is so cute!
