thursday morning

I don't even want to write this, as it's after seven o'clock in the morning and shhhh- not one, but both of my kids are still in bed sleeping... and I hate the good ol' jinxing rule... I know any second they're going to wake up and come find me now that I've gone and mentioned it! But I just had to share my excitement in a quiet morning :)
I cannot remember the last time they've both been asleep after sunrise. Sure, maybe one kid or the other now and then, but never both. Of course this has to be the same morning that I've been wide awake since Ryan got up for work at 5:30. That's okay though; I actually got out of bed at 6 and I've managed to get quite a bit accomplished this morning in the quiet.
Also, it works out well, as this is probably the only time I'll have to be on the computer today.

Not that I have anything of much consequence to say...

I'm glad it's finally Thursday. It seems this week has crept by soooo slowly, which is bizarre to me as I've really been busy and had a lot going on this week, so I would think it would just fly by! I'm really looking forward to the weekend, as we have almost no plans at all.

It's been awhile on the Thoughts for Thursday topic around here. I want to jump back in, but without the time to put together any real organized thoughts this week, I'm going to start off easy today... not so much 'what are your thoughts' as just simply 'what are your habits?'...
A list of morning questions for you:
  • Would you consider yourself a morning person?
  • What time do you typically get up in the morning? If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?
  • Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere?
  • How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??)
  • Do you exercise in the morning?
  • How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning?

Would you consider yourself a morning person? nooo.

What time do you typically get up in the morning? on a weekday my alarm goes off at 5:50, then i usually snooze once or twice and get up a little after 6.

If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day? i get up before i get max up.

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere? i get ready first (but it's pretty much my only duty in the morning, we don't eat breakfast at home)

How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??) i don't really do my hair ever, just a little blow-drying. make-up, yes. i'd say it takes me maybe 10 minutes?

Do you exercise in the morning? not lately :)

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning? maybe 8 or 9.

Would you consider yourself a morning person? Once I get my butt out of bed, then yes. Actually getting up is that hard part.

What time do you typically get up in the morning? Between 7:00 & 7:30 am

If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day? I get up when they get up. I would love the jump start but that goes back to actually getting out of bed...lol!

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere? I get everything else done and then get ready (sometimes late in the afternoon) unless we have somewhere to be. Hopefully this will change once the twins are older and not so demanding.

How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? I wash my hair every other day so on those days it probably takes and hour (without interruptions) and on the off days about 30 minutes.

Do you exercise in the morning? Exercise...what is that? LOL!

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning? 8:30 am

Would you consider yourself a morning person? Ehh...no

What time do you typically get up in the morning? If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?Work days I'm up around 6:30. Sometimes the boys wake up when I do, but most of the time they sleep till 7/7:30

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere? I jump in the shower, and attempt to get my hair done before the boys are up but usually its a combination of trying to get myself ready while tending to the boys's needs.

How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??) About 20-30 minutes, depends on how many interruptions I have.

Do you exercise in the morning? hell no.

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning? Maybe 8 or 9? Ry and I trade off sleeping in on the weekend and I'm usually up by 8/9 or so.

Even though you were still up early, I bet it was nice to have some much deserved time to yourself!

* Would you consider yourself a morning person? -- Sometimes. I prefer getting up early, rather than feeling like I've wasted my day by sleeping in, but it takes me a while to really become coherent.

* What time do you typically get up in the morning? If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?
-- Jason's an early riser (5-6), but I usually get up around 7, coincidentally the same time Tiegan gets up. She is usually wandering in our room to say good morning right as I'm getting out of bed.

* Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere?
-- Everything else usually comes first. I don't have much to do during the day, so I lounge in my jams while I get housework & other things done until T takes her afternoon nap. Then I have a quiet hour or so to get showered & made up.

* How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??)
-- I try to do it each day, and it usually takes 1/2 hour for everything.

* Do you exercise in the morning?
-- HAHA, no. I will as soon as this baby's outta me, though! I plan to take early morning walks every day.

* How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning?
-- Ohhh probably 8-ish. That's sleeping in to me!

Would you consider yourself a morning person? Yes

What time do you typically get up in the morning?

6:45 or so

If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?

Get up when they get up. Actually, make that get up around 4:30/5 to feed Callie, go back to sleep then get up when they get up!

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere?

I shower and get ready (with Callie in her bouncy chair and Morgan plays in his room) then get them dressed and ready.

How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??)

5-10 minutes LOL My hair is curly though so I can throw some product in it, scrunch it and let it air dry.

Do you exercise in the morning?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No.

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning?

Probably 8am. I'm not a sleep all day kind of person.

Would you consider yourself a morning person?

Yes...though I'm tired. I like the quiet, a good cup of coffee, & just getting a fresh start to the day.

What time do you typically get up in the morning? If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?

Typically I'm up between 5:30-6:00am, unfortunately not all of the time is by my own accord. Donnie is an EARLY rise, seldom does he sleep past 6am, hence the early wake up for me. I WILL be purchasing a timer tonight at Target to plug in for the lights on in the morning that you used with Sawyer....to let him know it's okay to get out of bed.

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere?

I get showered & dressed right away, as I've got to be out the door no later than 7:40ish for work. Don takes the kids to g-ma's around 8:30-9:00, so he's in charge of the boys in the morning! Thank GOD for my hubby! If I didn't have to get ready for work & when I don't it's really hard for me to get things started I'm usually running around like a mad woman.... my goal for this summer is to get up & get motivated!
How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??)

About an hour, shower, hair, makeup & getting dressed. Weekends 1/2 hour, I look like a slob usually!

Do you exercise in the morning? No

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning?

I would love to sleep in until 8 or 9, Gosh that sounds HORRIBLE, when did 8 become sleeping in for me...Waaaaaah!!

Would you consider yourself a morning person?

Definitely.

What time do you typically get up in the morning? If you have kids, do you get up when you have to get up with them, or do you get up earlier to get a jump start on your day?

I WAKE up at about 5 am, and usually try to get back to sleep. Grace wakes herself (Praise the Lord) and gets herself ready. Ethan can mostly accomplish this task on his own, but he needs regular encouragement. Usually I get up sometime between 6:30 and 7. Sometimes Gertie wakes up by then, but sometimes she sleeps in a bit. My favorite way to get out of bed on my own volition. But if Gertie is up first, then I'm the one to get up with her.

Do you get ready immediately and then tend to any other morning duties, or do you get the kids, animals, other things out of the way first and then get yourself ready at the last minute before you have to be somewhere?

Definitely everyone else and then me. Not always recommended. Sometimes I just don't end up getting ready besides throwing on some well-worn clothes.

How long does it take you to do your hair and make-up each day? (do you do it each day??)

My hair is nothing. I don't even comb it. I put a little gel in, and that seems to take care of it. If I do the full treatment from shower to makeup, it can be done in 30 minutes or less, I suppose. I'd like to give myself an hour, ideally, to cover all distractions, but I usually give myself 20 minutes and end up skipping makeup.

Do you exercise in the morning?

No.

How late would you sleep in if you didn't have to work or get up with kids or do anything on a Saturday morning?

On rare occasion I've slept until 9 or so. Usually, I wake up around 5:30 or 6, though, just out of habit. There's not much sleeping in. I wake up and start thinking of all sorts of things. I just can't stop it.
