sunny days

(Thoughts for Thursday posted below.)
(And be sure and read all the comments if you're interested!)

Whew! It's 2 o'clock and I feel like it's the first time I've sat down since 7 this morning. We had bible study this morning and afterwards an impromptu lunch in a friends friend's backyard with a bunch of the ladies and kids from church. My kids are now grumpy and wiped out and I'm sitting here crossing my fingers that they fall asleep for a bit. Sawyer doesn't do too well at these later naptimes...
We had fun though! It's an absolutely beautiful day and the kids had such a great time wearing themselves out on the trampoline and Caleb even took them for another (looong) ride in the wagon behind the tractor. Sawyer was lovin' it!

Speaking of beautiful weather, I have to share our perfect weather evening last night...
We took the kids to their first baseball game, and even though we only lasted thru 4 innings, we had a blast. In all fairness, we were there really early to eat dinner and be there for a Battle of the Bands at the stadium before the game that our friend Russ' band was playing. It was awesome (and they won second place, by the way!). So by the time we made it up to our FE "fan section" and the game started, we had already been there for two hours... and it was bedtime! Thus, the kids making it through four innings and past 8:30, was pretty good.

Here are some pics from the evening. Oh, and did I mention the weather?... about the best you could ask for a game. It was a beautiful 71 degrees with just the slightest breeze. After a week of either muggy rainy or cool and stormy weather, it was the most perfect evening (all day really) we've seen around here in awhile. We couldn't have planned it better ourselves.

Sawyer and Eliot enjoyed cheering together... they were totally egging each other on, getting a kick out of copying each other anytime anyone would clap or yell. It was pretty cute!

SJ showing off her blue cotton candy tongue...Besides the fact that Savannah could care less about baseball, the kids had a lot of fun. I think the cotton candy was worth it for Savannah. Sawyer did actually pay attention to the game quite a bit for a two year old! He was excited to be there.
The kids each got to pick out a souvenir from the game... Savannah got a teddy bear and Sawyer picked a baseball with a Cardinal on it. He didn't let it out of his hand for the rest of the evening.
Here's what we found when we checked on him in bed before turning in ourselves last night...
