Savannah's always had her own taste in fashion and I like to let her run with it.
I thought she'd started to grow into a more 'mature phase' as her choices lately have been more monochromatic or at least simpler styles.
I thought too soon.
Today she decided she wanted to wear a new sundress we got a couple weeks ago, smartly adding long sleeves to go underneath. That alone isn't so bad...
it was the tights that sealed the deal...
she chose them because "the flowers match perfectly"...
and they do, don't you think??
And yes we went out in public today.
We got lots of smiles aimed our way :)

Wow! That last pic of her makes her look like 10 years old!! Very cute pics!!
that's GREAT! i can't wait for that ;)
i love when little girls dress themselves! they are always so 'creative'! she's a cutie!
So cute! Think the funky tights look cute with it... even though they don't match. Kind of the "Oilily" look... which apparently is "cool" for those with $$ (Lauren used to buy the girls some very.... funky... err... hideous... Oilily clothes... shirts that were like $60!).
Anyhow... adorable pics. She looks so grown up! At least she's attempting to match LOL! I am sure the boys will be ridiculous... like army pants nad striped shirts and plaid tees over it or something. HAHA!
she is just cute as a bug! love the tights!
I think it's great. Grace was always very concerned about her look at that age as well. And like Savannah, it didn't have much to do with being "socially acceptable." I let her run with it as well.
And Ethan is worse. He seems to think the monochromatic color scheme is best. So if he puts on his red sweatpants, he wants to wear a red sweatshirt as well. The problem is, one might be more maroon, and one more tomato-red. I've tried counseling him on these issues to no avail. Mostly we just go with it. Someday he may care. Maybe I should learn to buy only blues and grays.
Anyway, adorable little peach of yours. We love her.
Well Hello Punky Brewster! Do you remember that show, it was one of my favs? When I was teaching there was always a "Punky" in the group. I like that kind of enthusiasm, creativity, and confidance. I wish I had more of it when I was little, heck, I still do. You go Savannah!
Actually, I got a "Cookie" magazine in the mail, and she looks like she would blend right in with the clothes ads. Her outfit probably would have been priced at over $100. :)
Amie R.
Well that's pretty good then for a $5 Children's Place t-shirt, a $9 dress from Old Navy and a $2 pair of tights on clearance from Children's Place to make it "funky"!!
Maybe she'll go into fashion and make a fortune on putting together these non matching funky outfits...
