tummy ache

Savannah was complaining about a tummy ache last night. Much more that simply complaining actually, she was crying and whining for a good half hour before bed. Ryan gave her a bit of Peppermint ice cream and sent her to bed with our Bed Buddy and she was out like a light.

Ryan was telling me last night after I got home how much Savannah liked laying with the warm Buddy on her belly to go to sleep. We were joking about how now she was probably going to have a "tummy ache" every night now, just for an excuse for us to warm that up for her.

Sure enough, this morning already, Savannah hadn't been up for more than half an hour when she mentioned to me that her Bed Buddy was cooled off when she woke up and it didn't help her tummy anymore. I told her we could try it again tonight if she had a tummy ache. She continued to tell me how much it did help her tummy last night and she was afraid her tummy still hurt. As a matter of fact, oh!, it's hurting again now....
I said, "oh that's sad because tummy aches don't like cinnamon rolls" (there were cinnamon rolls baking in the oven she was very much looking forward to). She quickly answered, "I think cinnamon helps tummies like peppermint does. But if it doesn't, I think I'll be okay to eat it."

Then a few minutes later she was hinting at her tummy ache (and mostly the Buddy) again.
I mentioned that you probably can't go to church if you have a tummy ache.
She thought for just a moment and told me, "Well, my tummy told me last night that it would stop hurting at 9 o'clock so I could go to church today. Can I have the Bed Buddy until 9 o'clock?"

HAHAHA! That is hilarious! She cracks me up with the things she comes up with.

We have something similar to that- it helped ease my After-Porter migraine a tad.

Those "bed buddies" sure are comforting, that's a fact. Hope the tummy trouble really is short lived though.:)xoxox
